Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are You a Fiduciary Financial Advisor?

Yes, Wisdom Investments is a fiduciary financial advisor. We are legally required to put your interests first and provide transparent, fee-only advice with no hidden commissions or conflicts of interest. You can trust that our recommendations are always tailored to your unique needs and goals.

  • How much is an initial consulation?

Our initial consultation is completely free and comes with no obligation. This meeting gives us a chance to get acquainted and see if working together would be a good match. We are happy to answer any questions you have and explain our approach. A strong client-advisor relationship is founded on trust, honesty, transparency, and mutual respect. Once we’ve established these foundations, we can discuss fees and explore more detailed financial planning or wealth management strategies.

  • What can I expect from our first meeting?

In our first meeting, we’ll have a friendly, open conversation focused on getting to know you-your values, financial goals, and what matters most to you. You’re welcome to bring investment statements or financial documents, but it’s not required; our main goal is to understand your unique situation. The meeting will last about 45 minutes to an hour, and we’ll also discuss how I work to see if we’re a good fit for each other. This is a chance for both of us to ask questions and make sure we’re aligned before moving forward.

  • Do I Really Need an Advisor?

Most likely! Personal finance is complex and filled with misinformation, and most people don’t have the time or expertise to navigate it effectively on their own. Your financial future is too important to leave to chance. A professional advisor brings the knowledge, experience, and up-to-date insights needed to create a personalized plan and help you achieve your goals with confidence.

  • Where would my money be held if I choose to work with you?

Your money is always held in accounts under your name in large, well-established institutions such as Fidelity Investments. Your money will never be held in any account under our name or anyone else’s.

  • Do I have to visit your office or are virtual meetings possible?

We offer both virtual and in-person meetings. With clients located across the United States and worldwide, we are highly experienced with Zoom. Virtual meetings are generally more efficient for all parties involved and are our preferred method. However, if you would like to meet face-to-face, we are also available for in-person meetings at our Hoffman Estates office.

  • How do you get paid?

We operate as a fee-only firm, charging a sliding scale from .5% - 1.5% annually based on assets under management to ensure fair pricing aligned with your portfolio size. Additionally, we offer flat-fee financial planning services, with fees that vary depending on the complexity of your individual situation, providing transparent and tailored options to meet your needs.

  • Who are your typical clients?

We work with a diverse range of clients, including many small business owners, teachers, doctors, and professionals from various fields. Our experience with these groups allows us to understand the unique financial challenges and opportunities they face, enabling us to provide advice and strategies tailored to their specific needs and goals.

  • What happens if I want to terminate our relationship?

You are never locked into working with us and can choose to end our relationship at any time—there are no long-term contracts or penalties for leaving. We aim to make the transition process as smooth as possible if you decide to move on. While you have complete flexibility, we’re proud to note that our client retention rate is very high, reflecting the satisfaction and trust our clients have in our services.
